Django on Textdrive?

I'm getting to the point where I'd like to run some Django servers on the public web.  I have an account at TextDrive, and I've dug through their site for info.  So far, I have seen no evidence of people successfully running Django there, in part because they don't support mod_python, AFAICT they don't yet support scgi, and I can't figure out lighttpd.Has anyone had any success w/ Django on TxD?--david

I run Django on DreamHost using FastCGI. If you have it
available, you can try it using this how-to:http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/Django.Hugo has a write up on lighttp+fcgi:https://simon.bofh.ms/cgi-bin/trac-django-projects.cgi/wiki/DjangoFcgiLighttpd. Thanks, Eugene"David Ascher" <> wrote in

I'm writing a set of instructions for Django/lighttpd+FastCGI on
TextDrive, to be published at manuals.textdrive.com in the next day or
two.

But then, I think you've alrady emailed me; are you 'da' from the forum?

Apache is serving media files and doing proxy to lighttpd.

I have replicated this setup also on my devel server for testing.

Can I ask why you're using both Apache and lighttpd? On the face of it,
it looks like you could use Apache's mod_fastcgi and you wouldn't need
lighttpd - I'd be interested to know what lighttpd gives you?

Thanks,

OTOH I'm using a mod_fcgi on my local server for site testing.
